About Author
I am a Toronto based artist, illustrator, and author whose lifelong love of nature, animals, and creativity shapes every aspect of my work. A devoted mom of two, I have been painting, drawing, and creating since I was a little girl. From an early age, I discovered a deep joy in storytelling through art, and as I became a parent, that passion naturally grew into making rhymes with and for my children. These playful verses, paired with vibrant illustrations, became the foundation of my creative voice.
Nature walks have always been a cherished part of my life. As a dedicated dog lover and a friend to animals of all kinds, I find constant inspiration in the natural world. Long hikes through the woodlands of Ontario sparked the initial vision for my book, “Once Upon A Woodland Walk”. Immersed in forest trails, surrounded by wildlife, textures, and light, I began painting the creatures I had imagined to appear. Creating gentle, rhythmic rhymes to accompany each illustration felt like a natural next step, and soon the story flowed organically from my experiences outdoors.
The principles of Leave No Trace resonated deeply with me, reinforcing my belief in respecting and protecting nature. These values became central to the book’s message, highlighting the importance of preserving undisturbed environments and understanding our impact on the natural world. Through my art and storytelling, I aim to connect with the next generation, inspiring children to care for wildlife and develop a sense of environmental responsibility.
By blending painting, poetry, and purposeful storytelling, I create visual and imaginative learning experiences that nurture curiosity, compassion, and respect for the natural world, encouraging young readers to explore, appreciate, and protect the beauty around them.
